Introduction to the module:

Me.jpg
About Ms. Rosario: My name is Sugeily M. Rosario Vera and I am studying at the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla. I want to become a professional English Teacher to guide the students through the correct path. As a future teacher I have my Educational Philosophy which is that the teacher must be a good educator that has knowledge of the material to transmit it to the students. He/She must have group control, vocation and work with love. The teacher must be very responsible, organized and must have good feelings. My beliefs on the education are that a teacher is an important person in the life of the human being who offers the knowledge needed to educate and who help in the reaching of the students goals and to choose their future profession. A teacher can leave positive or negative tracks in the way of a student. The role of the teacher is important since depending on how it transmits the message, the students will understand or not. The teacher must maintain a pleasant atmosphere, so that the student feels comfortable. The role of the student is to receive the message and to pay attention to process the information. I as a teacher would use many kinds of teaching approach and methods, because thanks to these things we have many ways of teaching, so the students can understand the class material.
About the module: This wiki was created as a requirement of the course TEED 4020: Computer Assisted Instruction. This module will be used to teach the Story Elements (Elements of a Short Story). The objectives of the module are that the student will define the vocabulary words on a practice excersice, identify the story elements of the story, and analyze the characters in terms of their feelings and values. The skills that will be covered are vocabulary in context and story comprehension. As a teacher, I used different types of activities and they are quiz, crosswords, game, and test. I used a variety of programs, which are Hot Potatoes, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint. The standard that was applied on this module was Reading and the Grade Level Expectations used were R 3.3, R 3.4, and R 3.5.
